Tongue River Middle School Student Council
Student Council is a group comprised of students elected by their peers. Students may campaign for one of four officer positions as 7th and 8th graders, and all middle school students are able to vie for a class representative position. We typically have around eight class representatives, which change out on the quarter and semester. Students may utilize their class representative to bring any questions or concerns they may have to our weekly meetings. Our representatives also gather votes from their classes so that all students have a say in the details of school events. Additionally, the student council meets weekly to plan events. We generally organize three dances and three movie nights, an 8th grade lock-in, one fundraising event for a local cause, four "spirit weeks" (dress-up weeks) in support of our athletic teams, we run the school's vending machine, and meet with SCSD #1 School Board members annually to share direct student feedback
